OFA Health Testing

Many Cavaliers develop MVD as they age.  Here, at Marcheta Cavaliers, we do our best to reduce this risk by breeding only heart clear Cavaliers and testing our dogs yearly with a board certified cardiologist.  We continue to test our retired dogs as well to insure our lines are healthy as they age. 

Our Cavaliers see an optimologist every year to check for any degenerative or genetic eye disease.  

We love our vet at the local VCA.  He not only checks patellas on our family pets, but every puppy we breed.  We are so grateful for the though exams he gives our babies. 

Hip Dysplasia is a concern for most bred of dogs.  Our dogs visit our local reproductive vet for either an OFA or Pennhip evaluation prior to breeding.  We also ensure the puppy box has proper traction to give them the best chance at not injuring themselves on a slippery surface.
